REVIEW - Enthrall (Enthrall Sessions #1) - Vanessa Fewings

SYNOPSIS:

This is the world of the forbidden. This is the embrace of Enthrall.

Mia Lauren is a single, twenty-one-year old working in a West Hollywood art store who dreams of one day becoming a fashion designer. When an unexpected offer arises to work at Enthrall, L.A.'s premier fetish club for the wealthy, Mia accepts. It's a salary beyond her wildest imagination.

Mia becomes the secretary to the club's assistant director, blond and broody Richard Booth. Richard is not only one of L.A.'s most beautiful and wealthiest men, he is also the club's senior dominant. Mia is both drawn and terrified when he reveals flashes of his white-hot passion, threatening an unbound pleasure like no other. She knows her attraction may be her undoing, but the spellbinding feelings render her powerless to resist his advances.

What Mia cannot know is that Enthrall's dashing director thirty-year-old Cameron Cole, who is also the club's psychiatrist, has lured Mia to save his best friend and patient Richard from his obsession with thrill seeking. Cameron masterfully sets up sexy scenarios to ensure the collision of Richard and Mia, hoping that love will save him.

However, despite Cameron's noble intentions, he also finds himself enticed by Mia's haunting innocence. Passion and pleasure stir, forming a dangerous love triangle. This is the world of the forbidden. This is the embrace of Enthrall.

MY THOUGHTS:

So before I start, I just want to say. This is a re-read. It's the third time I have read this book, since it's release, and I'm not a huge fan of re-reading, there is always something new to read instead.
Obviously, this book is different, and is one that I seriously never tire of.
So with the release of Cameron's Control, the new novella in the series, I started to read an ARC of it, and realised, I needed a re-fresh of the story (again) so here I am.
I had been intending to do a new review of this book for some time anyway, as my review style has changed considerably since I first read this. So good a time as ever, I think.

Enthrall is the story of Mia. 21, stunning, quite innocent in regards to men, and sex. But not in an annoying, and fake way. It's actually quite sweet, and makes you warm to her quite swiftly.
She has a rough background (I won't go in to details on that) and has spent the last few years, helping out her step mum, who is ill and needs some financial help for her medical bills.
Mia, has been juggling 2 jobs, and has zero excess money. Then one day gets the opportunity of lifetime.
One of her close friends, has left her job, and has told Mia to go for it. It will pay more than she could ever earn, in all the jobs she juggles. Which to Mia, means paying off her step mums bills quicker.

Anyway, background aside. Mia turns up for the interview at Enthrall, an elite club in LA.
She knows the basics, but is no way prepared for what is to come. But she knows it's a great opportunity, and she is intrigued by this world she has had a glimpse at, and is determined to get and keep, the job.
By some miracle she gets the job, and is to be Enthall's newest secretary.

It's here that she meets Richard and Cameron.
Richard is the Assistant director of Enthrall, a senior Dominant. He is gorgeous, with his rough around the edges, and preppy style, mixed with a man living on the edge. He takes brooding to a whole new level, and to start with, does not want Mia working there.

Then there is Cameron, well, there is no mystery that I am team Cameron, always have been, always will be. He is the ultimate book boyfriend, but even that seems too tame for him. He is more of a book god!

He is unbelievably stunning, powerful, in control of absolutely anything that crosses his path. A complete mystery, and yeah I think I might have to stop describing him now.

What with Mia's innocence, mixed with her feisty and inquisitive nature. She is like a free-for-all buffet at a truckers convention. Seriously, everyone wants her, covets her, or wants to be her, or convert her. It's all about her, and it's easy to see why.

So anyway, round up time. Cameron is Richards best friend, and always had big intentions for Mia to sweep in, and save Richard, from himself.
Things don't always work out like that. But it's going to be exciting, sexy, and frustrating working out what will happen, along the way.

I have to mention the incredible writing style. I was completely and utterly hooked from first chapter and beyond. Still hooked now, and I rarely say that.

The world in which Vanessa Fewings has created, is a mixture of all things terribly bad for you, but at the same time so good. The world of the rich, the elite, who want more than the norm. A playground for adults who want to go beyond, and don't care how they get there. As long as it's done discreetly.
It's all delivered so beautifully you can't help but be curious, and want to know more. Every sentence is addictive, every vision compelling. The characters are perfection, and their world desirable.
The story manages to not only stick in your mind, and ignite an addiction for more, but it also has you gripped with the twists and turns, as the secrets unravel.

When I read this for the first time, I moaned a little at the speed in which the characters seem to fall in to insta-love, but upon finishing the series, and better understanding all the characters, I actually take that statement back. It's not as simple, and straight cut as that. As all will be discovered throughout the series.

"Refreshed. Revitalized. Renewed. Reborn."

They say you never get that same feeling, as when you first read a book you love, but strangely I still get the same buzz every time I read this book. You will be hooked, whether it's with the story, or the world, or both. It can't be helped.

My spine tingled with anticipation. I discreetly took in her attire.
Those thigh high boots and her fitted leather corset that creaked seductively when she moved; the way her pale cleavage rose above the delicate lace edging.
The spicy scent of incense wafted through the air and music flowed out of hidden speakers; a deep, foreign chanting that was so soothing, so enticing, it made my stomach quiver.
It was all so forbidden.
