REVIEW - Wild Irish Heart - Tricia O'Malley

TITLE - Wild Irish Heart

AUTHOR - Tricia O' Malley

Synopsis:

It is time…

An ancient book, a power untouched, and a heart unloved lead Keelin O'Brien from her graduate studies in Boston to a small village on the coast of Southern Ireland. Determined to unearth the secrets lying hidden in the enchanted waters of the cove, Keelin has little time for a surly Irishman who infuriates her during the day and haunts her fantasies at night.

Inexplicably drawn to the woman who has stepped from his dreams and into his world, Flynn fights a stubborn battle against his increasing attraction for Keelin. Forces unknown have better plans for the two.

Only the secrets of the cove can show Keelin who she really is, the beauty of her mysterious power, and a love that will break the bounds of what she knows.

From New York Times Bestselling author, Tricia O'Malley, comes a new romance series set on the rocky shores of Ireland.

My Review:

Wild Irish Heart surprised me. Tricia O'Malley did a wonderful job with setting up the mythology behind this novel. Not only did I fall in love with the characters, but I also feel in love with the folklore and Ireland. I cannot wait for the second story.

I will admit that I chose this book to review for a personal reason. I have been to Ireland and love it there. With that being said, I think that Tricia represented the country adequately and I was satisfied with her description of the surroundings. I felt like I was transported back to Ireland myself.

The story feels like it is told in a fairytale format. While reading, I felt like I was actually watching the story occur and that the story was being narrated by a third party not directly involved with the story. I really liked that the author used this writing style. I feel like it added too the mystical element of the story.

I also loved the characters. Flynn is a man that readers can fall in love with. He is all man and fiercely loyal. Keelin is strong and stubborn. She is fiesty and quick to stand up for herself. I love that she is trying to find herself in a strange new land. I also absolutely love Fiona. Fiona is a very loveable character that is the wisdom of the story. It is clear to see that she is well liked by most.

Overall, I loved this story. It contains heart, heat, mystery, magic, and love. This is exactly the type of story that I have always loved. I would recommend this to family and friends. I cannot wait for book two.

Favourite Quotes:

"I suppose I should thank you," Keelin stuttered. She tried to regain her composure as she lifted her chin at him. "Of all the… how do I end up with the woman that is stubborn as all get-out?" Flynn said to himself as he started the motor and whipped towards shore.
