There’s a phrase: Still waters run deep.
But there’s more to it than that.
Because "still" doesn’t denote peace. Nor calm. Nor happiness.
It’s an illusion. It's chaos.
The only way to handle chaos is to become it.
That’s what Lucy did. She created stillness out of the chaos tumbling inside her and called the most chaotic motorcycle club in the United States her family.
The Sons of Templar gave her chaos, friendship, family, danger and death.
But she wouldn't want it any other way.
Then he came. The one who showed her that her handle on chaos was tumultuous at best.
Showed her how to stand still.
And how good it could be.
And how drowning in those waters comes as easy as breathing.

OUR REVIEW:
Still Waters was an okay book. It had some wonderful aspects to it, but it also had some areas that could be improved. This book is hard to describe because so much is going on. It is an instalove novel, so if you don’t like those, this book is not for you. The author actually states that in the beginning of the book. This book has a lot of drama going on in it as well. If I had to choose an overall theme, it would be confronting ones’ demons.
The plot of this book, well there was more than one. The author did split this book up into two parts, which did make things a bit better. If I had to describe this plot in just a couple of sentences, I would say that this book is about a man and woman who see something in each other that they can relate to. This leads to them to explore this connection, but can they each face their demons and come together? Or will it tear
them apart? That’s really as simple as I can state it. I like the plots of this book, but felt they should have been separated and written in separate books.
The characters of this book were okay, but at some points annoying. At first, Lucy seems like a badarse chick with an attitude. I really liked her character, but as the story continued on, she became annoying. I did not feel she was really developing at all. I felt like she was stuck in this cycle that she could not get out of. Keltan was another character that I really wanted to love. He was amazing during the first parts of the book and I felt he really developed throughout the book, but I also found him annoying at times. It was like his alpha male attitude went a little too far. Overall, the characters were ok, but could improve.
The heat in this book, well that’s one thing the author did not miss on. Some scenes in this book are downright steamy. Others you can feel the tension between the characters. It is like you are just waiting for them to come together because you know the result will be beautiful. The author did an awesome job with the heat in this book.
The writing style of this book was pretty good. I really liked how the author wrote. It was a nice narrative. The story is told from single point of view, which I don’t mind. The pace of the book changed drastically. At times it would move quickly, then it would feel like it would pause, then slowly start moving again. There were also more than one time jump in the story. One of them I could really see the need for, but some of the others I felt were unnecessary. One in particular is where I would have separated this book into two books. Other than that I enjoyed it.
Overall, this book has the potential to be amazing, but I feel it just fell short for me. It had a lot of good aspects, but definitely could use some improvement. I hope in the future, the author decides to break this book into two and takes more time to develop each plot. I feel this will dramatically affect the story in a wonderful way.
