Release Blitz & Review - When Stars Burn Out - Carrie Aarons

Title: When Stars Burn Out
Author: Carrie Aarons
Genre: Contemporary Adult
Release Date: April 22, 2018

Blurb

Stars die in one of two ways.

So slowly that each layer burning out feels like agony … or suddenly, exploding
into a million pieces before the universe even has a grasp of what is happening.

When Paxton Shaw left Demi Rosen without so much as a goodbye, he stole her
shine in both manners.

Now, eight years later, he’s trying to pull her back into his orbit. The
nation’s most beloved football player, a tight end with a seriously tight end,
has finally realized Demi is the one who got away.

But she’s a different woman than the weak girl who used to come running
whenever he called in the middle of the night. Strong, successful, her life’s
mission being to grant the wishes of children whose flames have all but been
extinguished.

And untouchable, as dark and cold as a midnight sky with no moon in sight.

When one special child forces their star-crossed paths to collide, it’s
impossible to keep the feelings of their past buried. Paxton had been her
Halley’s Comet; the once in a lifetime love that scorched Demi’s heart in the
most spectacular of fashions.

She promised herself she would never make that mistake again. But, how can she
forget the dreams of love she once had, when Paxton wants to make them come
true?

OUR REVIEW:

“Second chances, 5 stars”

I will admit I have been an Aarons fan for some time so when I saw she was putting out When Stars Burn Out I knew I was going to read it. Then I saw the cover and like it, read the blurb and wanted to read it more. Then when I finally got all the words in my hand I fell in love with the story.

In the beginning I really hated Paxton. He was an egotistical jock to a T. He didn’t care at all about those around him and their feelings, until he experienced something humbling that brought him back down to us mere mortals. And Demi? Poor Demi was the one who got him at is worst during his college years and now he wants to give her the best of his adult years, but will she let him?

Demi was once so in love with a guy she let him do all the unthinkable, demoralizing things to her self-esteem. And when he left she built herself back up into a stronger woman. When they cross paths again she wants to hate him but can’t. Will Pax get her to forgive him and give him a chance?

These two really were great together. I adored Demi and what she does. I love how Pax was willing to help her in any way possible. There were scenes that were completely swoon worthy. Not because he threw his cash around but because he listened to her, heard her, and did things based off that.

I loved that Demi was Jewish. I thought it was a fun touch. But I will admit that when her parents spoke and used Yiddish words I did have to use the dictionary because I had no idea what they meant. It was definitely a learning experience for me.

If you take a chance on When Stars Burn Out your heart will hurt… a lot. But in the end you’ll feel whole and love the story. It’s definitely worth it. When the Stars Burn Out is one of those stories that no review will do it justice.
