OUR REVIEW:

Holy Hot Alpha! Ricca is an amazing mafia novel. This book is obviously in a world the author has created, but can be read as a standalone, as I did. The characters were great and the plot intriguing. I could totally see the author going to many places with this book along with seeing some areas she has already gone. If you like action, romance, and heat, then this book is for you.

Ricca is all about the mafia/mobster world. I am talking loyalty and trust is hard to come by. Add in the whole shoot first ask questions later mentality and I knew this book was going to be amazing. The plot of this book is interesting without the mob stuff. I mean take a kidnapped princess and pair her with a cocky king and what do you get? A force marriage bound to cause sparks in more ways than one.

Ricca is a great character. I liked how he is such an alpha male. He has minimal softness to his jagged edges, but I prefer him that way. It seemed more authentic for his character. Then there is Chiara. She is a force to be reckoned with. She is strong and resilient, yet vulnerable as well. Her tough exterior is the way she learned to cope with some seriously messed up stuff from her past. I liked that about her, but also ached for her.

The heat in this book is there. Do not mistake this book for lacking in this department. I think the heat between these two started off early and just kept building until it erupted. The fact that these two characters live in such a temporary world also lent itself to the chemistry between the two. When you could lose your life at any second, it is important to live in the moment.

The writing style of this book is good. The pace was steady. The story is told from dual point of views. I liked the action and the romance. My only complaint was I felt it was missing something. I cannot quite put my finger on what, but it was just missing and element for me personally.

Overall, this was a great book. I would recommend it to others. I can totally see it becoming one of my rereads for mafia books. The characters are dynamic, and the story is captivating. I cannot wait to try some more stories by this author.
