Title: The Dating Debate
Author: Chris Cannon
Genre: YA RomCom, Sweet Romance
Publisher: Entangled Teen

Such a sweet, ya romance. The Dating Debate is a great ya novel. There is romance, but even more friendship. It is the perfect representation of young love. I really enjoyed reading it.
The plot of this book was warm and sweet. Each character has their own skeletons in their closets. The premise of the book is finding friendship and learning to trust another. There are many ups and downs, but it was a wonderful journey.
Nina is so relatable to me. She is a spunky girl who stands up for what she believes in. She is also honest to a fault and holds others accountable for their actions. Then you have West. He is the brooding type without much to say. I liked watching the small changes in him throughout the book.
I usually talk about heat in books, but this is a ya book. There is romance and some sweet, heartwarming moments, but nothing further than that. With that being said, it was perfect for this book.
The writing style of this story is done well. This story is told in a dual point of view. I enjoyed reading from West's point of view. I also felt all the reactions and situations were appropriate for high school students. Then there's the secrets they are hiding. Both are very real things that some people have to live with. I felt it was handled properly.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was the perfect high school romance to give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I would recommend this to others. This book would be appropriate for teens as well.
Writing style: 5/5
