REVIEW - Eternal Mourning - Carrie Ann Ryan

TITLE - Eternal Mourning
AUTHOR - Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:

In the seventh book of the Talon Pack series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, a Healer is forced to come to grips with the idea that he can’t save everyone…including the woman he loves.

Walker Brentwood vowed to the moon goddess that he’d protect his Pack and Heal with every last ounce of his power. He’s watched his siblings and cousin battle the worst circumstances to find love and is now afraid that the one woman who could be his might not have much time left. The rules of mating have changed, and Walker will do what he has to in order to protect the bonds that have eluded him for so long.

Aimee Reagan knows there’s something wrong with her. She’s known since the first time she found out shifters were real and magic existed. When the Talon Pack’s enemy sets his sights on her, her battle to survive becomes even harder.

Walker and Aimee must turn to each other when the powers around them change and the paths that had been laid before them are no longer clear. But when their passion threatens a curse far older than anyone dreamed, they’ll only have one chance to save something worth more than a mating bond. Their future.

Jennifer's Review:

Ahhh! Give me more. Seriously! This is only the second book in this series that I have read, but I am addicted. I am still curious about what happened before, but I don’t feel lost at all when reading this book. Eternal Mourning was much needed for me. Aimee is an amazing character and I just had to know what was going on with her. This book has a bit of mystery and a lot of action and heat.

Aimee has something going on with her and the pack doc, Walker can’t help but attempt to help her. The question is, what is wrong with her? As they head on this journey together they start to question everything around them. Are things how they seem? Is there more to their connection that they originally thought? You will just have to read to find out.

Aimee is an amazing character. I love how feisty she is, even when she isn’t feeling well. I also relate to how she feels sometimes. I am just like her. I am the one always trying to stay strong for everyone else. I think it was appropriate to have her be the one who is having issues with being able to keep that going. Walker is hot as sin. Not only is he a doctor, but he is a nurturer. I think often times we get so caught up in the solider types that we forget how nice a nurturing man can be. I liked this about him.

Oh man did I feel the heat in this book. Walker being as sexy as he is could melt a book all on his own. Add in the chemistry that him and Aimee obviously have, well then you should call the fire department. There is about to be a fire you can’t put out! I loved all the scenes between these characters.

The writing style of this book is interesting. I like the dual point of view. The pace of the book is steady as well. I like how the author uses her descriptions. I also really enjoyed how she gave us an idea of where the next book will be going by giving us a quick glimpse from those characters point of views. It was an interesting way to draw the readers in.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I cannot wait to continue reading and see where this pack ends up overall. I would recommend this series to others. It is a wonderful paranormal romance. It has just the right amounts of action, heat, romance, and mystery.
