BLURB
A steamy standalone romance featuring a swoon-worthy single dad and the one woman he absolutely shouldn’t fall in love with.

Sullivan

It’s a hot summer morning and I’m already running late.
I’m no one’s white knight, but when I see a damsel in distress, I have to rescue her.
I didn’t know it would be Aubrey Dorado, the girl I swore was off-limits.
Now she’s under my skin and I can’t get her out of my head.
So, I did the worst thing possible and hired her to work in my gym.
Lusting after my new employee breaks my number one rule.
But each day she tempts me with her sweet personality and clever mind.
I’ve been burned by love before.
Romance is a risk I can’t afford.
But how much longer can I resist the attraction simmering between us?

Aubrey

I swore I’d never be that girl again. The one who screws up her life and future over a handsome face and empty compliments.
Then I signed up for a self-defense class with Sullivan “Sully” Wallace.
He’s fearless and brave. Things I’m not.
He’s also strong, silent, and stubborn. Things that drive me crazy.
When he offers me a job, I jump at it.
But working around my untouchable crush isn't as much fun as I thought it would be.
Especially when he makes it clear he's not interested in anything more than employee/employer.
Just when I think he might be changing his mind, the biggest mistake of my life returns.
Sully is the only man I trust to help me fight back. But will he forgive me for keeping my past a secret?

Our Reviews:
Warnings and Wildfires is an amazing story of love, life and survival about Sullivan ‘Sully” Wallace and Aubrey Dorado. I have been counting down the months, weeks and days until this book was released, after reading Autumns other series (Lost Kings MC) and Bullets and Bonfires we had small snippets of Sully and I was left wondering what his story was.

Sully is a single Dad, he has his Gym and his family those are his priorities, when Aubrey starts working in the Gym he has to keep his hands to himself and not cross the line breaking his rules. Aubrey may be young but she has been through enough to last her a lifetime, with her sister as her number 1 supporter she has started to build her life and slowly find the confidence to go after what she wants.

Sully is such a swoon worthy character, he is the brooding and silent type which makes him even more appealing, when finding out he has a child that he will fight for I was sign, sealed and delivered. Aubrey doesn’t realise it but she is a fighter, she is stronger than she knows. Picking yourself up and starting a new life in your teens is not easy especially with the trials and tribulations of past drama.

Sully and Aubrey have chemistry, neither of them can deny that. Sully holds back for as long as he can, when they finally come together there is no doubting the level of heat between these two heads straight to maximum, leaving you hanging for the next scene.

“The only words that come to mind are explosive, detonate, inferno.” – Aubrey

Autumn is no doubt in a class of her own, Warnings and Wildfires flows naturally between Sully and Aubrey’s POV’s. Autumn knows exactly when to insert drama with situations that are not only believable, showing that life isn’t as black and white as you may think.

Personally, anything Autumn Jones Lake is an instant 1 click for me, reading her other series and standalones have cemented her into top spot as my favourite author. Again, I will start counting down till we have the next instalment as there are several minor characters that I would love to get to know better. I would highly recommend this book and suggest that you also read Bullets and Bonfires first as many of the characters are involved in both.

FINALLY!!!! I have been waiting over a year for this book. Warnings and Wildfires is a stand-alone novel that features characters from other books written by the author. This book features Sully, who I personally met in Bullets and Bonfires last year. He was also featured in some other books, but I haven’t read those yet. This book has action, romance, heat, and is everything I could have hoped for.

The plot of this book is exactly what I had hoped. I mean with a blurb like the one that came with this book can you not expect heat and drama? I sure as heck did. I liked that this book was more than just a boy meets girl. This book had a lot of layers and complications that are common in everyday life. I will say there was one curveball I did not see coming, but it was perfect. It added just what was needed to the story.
I was enamored with Sully the moment I met him in Bullets and Bonfires. He was such a mysterious character, yet strong and caring. I knew he would have an amazing story. In Warnings and Wildfires, we get to see him in all his glory. He has such an amazing story. Then we get Aubrey. She has a past that she is not too terribly upfront about. With that being said, she is a strong character that has her quirks. I like that about her.
The heat in this book was amazing. It wasn’t what a lot of books have anymore. A lot of books rush into the heat and it feels forced and unwanted. This book was natural. The characters really felt like they were building up to something great. I loved the back and forth motion the heat took in this book.
The writing style of this book was as amazing as the first. I really loved the steady pace of the book. I also loved that the author wasn’t afraid to make a character that was feisty and sweet. Or the male character that is battling with his inner emotions. I loved the dual point of view. It gave us what we needed from each character.
Overall, this was an amazing book. I cannot wait for the next one. I surly am hoping it is Jake’s book. I really liked him. Even if it is not him, the author has plenty of characters to carry this series on with. I would recommend this book to others. Another amazing story!

EXCERPT
We step out onto the main floor and Sully pounces, gripping my arm and tugging me to the side. Myra, for some reason, tags along. She runs her hand over his shoulder and tilts her head in a sex-kittenish way I haven’t yet mastered. “Sully, Jake said you never come to the fights. How are you?”

He shrugs off her hand but gives her a polite smile. Jealousy flares inside me. Do they have history? He told me he didn’t date because of his daughter. Is Myra an exception to that rule?
I thought I’d buried that obsessive-crushing-teenager part of me a long time ago. Sully makes me crazy. Obviously.

“I’m good,” he answers. “How’ve you been?”

“Great. I’m showing Aubrey around tonight.” For the first time, she seems to notice how close Sully and I are standing and the possessive hold he has on my arm.“Can you give us a minute, Myra?” he asks, although it’s really more of a demand than a question or suggestion.

“Sure.” She glances down at me. “Come find me when you’re done.”

She hesitates for another second or two, then sashays away, putting a lot of extra sway in her hips. The movement is lost on Sully who’s solely focused on me.

“You and fight-night-Barbie seem tight,” I blurt out.

His lips twitch, then his face settles into a much more serious expression. “You know why I’m here.”

“No, I don’t. Explain.”

His hold on my arm loosens and he takes my hand. Our fingers intertwine, and his thumb softly strokes my skin. “Things seem calm now, but these fights get out of control sometimes. I don’t want you caught up in anything bad.”

“Did you follow me?”

“I took a guess.” He cocks his head. “You’re a stubborn one.”

I lift my shoulders. “You told me you weren’t interested, so I don’t understand why you’re here.”

“Doesn’t mean I want you to get hurt.”

Ouch. I mean, I’m touched he wants to protect me. I didn’t need the reminder that he’s not interested in anything more.

“Besides,” he continues. “I never said I wasn’t interested. I said I had a lot on my plate.”
He strokes the back of his hand over my cheek. “You deserve someone who can give you their full attention.”

“I—”

An ear-splitting buzz pierces the room, cutting off our conversation. Griff’s voice comes out of the loudspeaker. “Five minutes, everyone!”

“I better go.” I glance over my shoulder, seeking Myra in the crowd.

“Hey,” he says, tugging on my hand. “I’ll be right here watching out for you.”

“Aren’t you going to cheer for your brother?”

One corner of his mouth lifts. “And cheering for Jake, yeah.”

A ridiculous impulse seizes me, and I lean up, planting a quick kiss on his cheek. Dating issue aside, I’m sure he had better things to do tonight than come watch over me. “Thanks, Sully.”

His hand closes over mine, pulling me closer. For a second, I think he’s going to kiss me again.

“Be careful,” he says before setting me free.
