Our Review:
Holy. Freaking. Hot. Those three words describe how I felt when I finished Giovanni by Natasha Knight. This book is a mafia novel and discusses some difficult topics. Some might be considered triggers so beware if you are planning to read this book. With that being said, it was a great novel. It has action, mystery, secrets, and hot, dirty sex. What more could you ask for.
The plot of this book is interesting. Giovanni is looking for something. He will not stop until he finds it. Emilia has secrets she hides. Secrets that are threatening to reveal themselves and put her in danger. When Giovanni walks into her life, is he going to be her savior or her damnation? Only time will tell.
Emilia is a strong character. I liked her from the moment I met her. She has balls of steel, even when faced with a man like Giovanni. Giovanni is strong, silent, and lethal. He doesn’t show fear. He knows what to do in life and he won’t let anyone stop him from taking what he wants. I loved this dark alpha.
The heat in this book man. Wow. Get me some water because I am burning up. Giovanni is such a demanding man that it is just HAWT! Then you have Emilia. With her rebellious streak, you just know there are going to be some delicious punishments in her future. This aspect was perfect.
The writing style of the book was good. At times I found it hard to keep up and I didn’t really care for the ending, but other than that, I loved it. The book was easy to read. The pace was good. I loved all the action. I also loved that the author didn’t hold back. She gave us dark and twisty in the most perfect way.
Overall, this was a good mafia novel. I loved reading mafia novels because they are often dark and toe the line between right and wrong. This author did an amazing job with it. She did not pull any punches when writing this book. This book is a stand-alone, but interconnects with a mafia world she has already created. I would recommend this book to others.
