Release Blitz & Review - Foolish Games - Lilliana Anderson

Title: Foolish Games
Series: A Cartwright Brother Romance
Author: Lilliana Anderson
Genre: Romantic Comedy (Standalone)
Release Date: July 19, 2018

I didn’t have an easy life. Waiting tables for a function centre was about as good as life got for me. There were no tips—unless telling me I had a great arse could be considered a tip—but it was enough for me to live on, barely. Everything else I needed, I took. And I was never caught, except that one time when these brothers and some weird chick busted me for stealing their car. It was their fault I took it. They shouldn’t have left their keys where I could find them. And it was a sweet ride; I chucked a couple of donuts in that thing and it smoked up like a charm. Good times. Anyway, those guys took the car back, turned my boyfriend into a pussy and ended up making me homeless. When I saw that same car again in the function centre parking lot, I couldn’t resist. I pulled out my keys and started scratching. C… U… busted. I should’ve known it was a bad idea, but I never was one to listen to my conscience. Suddenly I was locked in a room while a family of five ridiculously hot brothers argued over what to do with me. Their mother wanted me dead, but they were insisting that stealing and vandalism weren’t necessarily grounds for a beheading. I was on their side. I quite liked my head—even though it seemed like I’d just gotten myself in way over it.
But do you know what was crazy? The brother I’d stolen from, the one who’d caught me defacing his car, was now watching me like a lion watches a big juicy steak. Hmm, maybe I could spin this in my favour after all….

GIVE ME MORE! That is what I was begging for when I finished Foolish Games. This book is a part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone. I have not read the two before, but trust me when I say I plan to go back and read them. These books are HOT! I am already in love with the characters. This book is similar to an American Mafia story, but it is set in Australia and has some differences. If you like Mafia stories, give this one a try.

The plot of this story is simple. Girl hates guy. Guy hates girl. Girl is an idiot and decides to key guy’s car. Punishments ensue. I mean really. These two obviously have a past that we aren’t quite privy to at first. Why do they hate each other so much? You learn that throughout the book, but the hatred fuels an undeniable attraction between the two.

Ronnie, aka Veronica, is such a special character. She has made some downright stupid decisions in her life, but she has survived. She is a survivor. That is what gives her the strength she has. It also gives her a mouth like a sailor that is bound to get her in trouble. That trouble is often stealing as she is a self-proclaimed thief. Then you have Kristian. He is the definition of a rich playboy. He likes fast cars and fast women. There is also more to him than meets the eye. Is our resident thief going to be the one to get under his skin?

There is a fine line between love and hate. Hatred often brings the hottest and dirtiest sex between characters. I mean come on. Hate sex has it’s own definition. So it is safe to say that the heat in this book is there in abundance. These two have chemistry that flies off the pages. The only question is, is chemistry all they have?

The writing style of this book was amazing. The pace was nice and steady. The author did an amazing job of keeping the reader interested by peeling back only small layers and revealing just what the readers should know at that time. It kept me wanting more. When I started this book, I was planning to go to bed early. I stay up to nearly 2 in the morning because I could not put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen next.

Overall, this book blew my hair back in an amazing way. This book has kept me thinking about it since I read it. It has been more than a week and I still am wanting to go back and reread it. I hope the next book comes out soon because I am dying to read it. I would recommend this book to others.
