When faking it becomes aching for it…

They say a bachelor with a big “vessel” is a babe magnet. And you know what? They aren’t wrong. But the CEO of the family yacht company (a.k.a. my mother) is rocking my boat, demanding I bed and wed the heiress of one of our biggest competitors. If my mother doesn't get her way and decides to fire me, I forfeit millions in trust fund money. So there's that.

Salvation comes in the form of Delaney Brewster, who just happens to need an investor. In exchange, she agrees to help me stave off Mommie Dearest by pretending to be my girlfriend. It's a crazy faking idea, but even crazier? My heart is telling me that spunky, sexy Delaney could be the real deal.

It’s not an overstatement to say my 9-to-5 equates to lying underneath a hairy fat guy and faking an orgasm. I desperately want to start my own business, but my cash flow…isn’t. Until Damon Cavanaugh makes me an offer my bank account can’t refuse.

Pretending to be his girlfriend should be easy, since I’ve sworn off serious relationships. And let’s face it, he’s easy on the eyes. But the more I get to know Damon, the less it feels like acting. And when his mother steps up the pressure, the gloves—and the masks—have to come off, exposing the one thing I swore to heart.

Need a carpenter who has all the right tools and the skill to use them? Look no further than me, Jackson Decker of Decker Renovation…otherwise known as Big Deck. I’ll let you guess how I may have inherited that nickname. Spoiler alert: it’s not just because I’m 6’5”.
I take care of my female clients in many ways. Like I said, I’ve got tools. And I’ve also got rules:
Three seconds, tops, for hugs.
No going on dates.
No staying overnight.
And absolutely no letting anyone mess with my heart.
I’m yours for the duration of the project. And then, it’s over.
Most women find it difficult to say goodbye, and to be honest, sometimes it’s hard for me, too…literally. See what I just did there?
But that’s the way it has to be, and I’ve always been able to handle it.
Until Madeline Callaway.

I was only looking to get a big bathroom, not a big man, since I’ve basically sworn off relationships after my ex cheated on me. But when Jack Decker showed up at my door with his jaw-dropping sex appeal, devastating charm, and his huge…um, workboots, I found myself wanting his hands on more than just my bathroom fixtures.
I wasn’t prepared for how he’d make me laugh, blush, swoon…ache. Especially ache.
I wasn’t prepared for how much I wanted him to stay.
Will I be able to follow our mutual agreement of insanely hot, no-strings sex, keep my emotions in check and let Jack go once he’s done the renovation?
Or will I need him to return and repair the hole in my heart?

Our Review:

I loved this book! It was such a fun and fantastic read about two people who take a desperate situation and make the best of it...and then it turns out in the very best way...a Romance Happily Ever After! I've read Big Deck by Remy Rose first, and while it was good, I felt this book was so much better. It played out a bit like a Gilmore Girls episode: hot men with adorable and awkward but still strong women, and a lot of fast paced fantastic dialogue with an intriguing surprising backstory.

Damon has a controlling mother that is making his life hard. Delaney has a past that makes relationships hard. Both are in a tough spot and not happy with their lives. So they start a fake relationship that benefits them both. But will it turn into more? I thoroughly enjoyed the plot set up. We had met Delaney in “Big Deck” the Big Sexy Series Book 1, and she was such a big, brash, bold character that I couldn't wait to see more of her, and what remarkable young man would take her on. It was just all so well done!

I loved these characters! Delaney started out as wonderful best friend in Book 1, and I was so glad to see her getting a happily ever after in Book 2. She's a hard working girl (despite hating her job) who has a dream but is struggling to make it happen. She's bold but hesitant due to some past that is laid out in such a poignant way. Damon is the best rich book boyfriend! He's a genuinely good guy, with money to spare, but a mother that has some issues that wreak havoc on his life. It all blended and meshed into the most amazing plot!

If we had paid attention, the characters met in Book 1... Subtle, but I loved the way all the details flowed from one book to the next! Well done Ms. Rose! So we know they're attracted, and then Mr. Sexy Rich Man makes Delaney's dreams start coming true while being a fake girlfriend... Despite the fake aspect, they slowly build a real relationship, with real trust and real emotions. Delaney is slow to let it turn to more, but Damon pulls it out of her, and her heart leads her down some sexy roads!

Sexy Mother Faker had a most interesting blurb that first caught my attention, then the story and characters drew me in for a fast read! I was drawn the the beautiful Maine setting (gonna have to put that on my travel bucket list!). The author did a great job of writing the characters and creating a whimsical yet realistic plot that was a delight to read!

This book was just super fun to read. It made me smile for the fun details (Tucker, the Lou and Stu show, Portia, to name a few). I liked the first book good, but this one knocked it out of the park! Can't wait to see who Book 3 is about!

Favorite Quotes:
“It feels like my hard-on's the size of an Amazon Echo. … Alexa, soften.”
“...I've got a bunch of F – words lining up in alliteration inside my head. Full of foreboding fending off a female for four months.”
“I haven't been hugged-really hugged, like this-in the longest time. Maybe in forever. A Sigh escapes me-the kid of sigh you make when you're totally content. God, I hope he didn't hear, but I couldn't stop it because I'm feeling so held.”
“I consider reading romances pleasurable torture.”

About the author

By day, Remy Rose is a pure-as-snow teacher, but by night, she tucks the teacher away to release her alter ego of romance author. Remy shares many things about her outside life with students, but this isn’t (ever going to be) one of them.
A writer since the age of ten, she’s traded her spiral bound notebook and yellow beanbag chair for a MacBook Air and desk, but her love of the craft is still the same. Her first women’s contemporary novel was represented by a New York agent, and she’ll never forget the day she got that phone call while in the bedding section of Target.
Remy is thrilled to be part of Jack’s House, is brimming with ideas for future books, and got a kick out of writing this in third person.
