BLURB

When a yes or no, changes your entire life.....

Slater “Savage” Harlow

I've got almost everything I need to have an amazing comeback year. My knee is good, my dedication is there, my determination never left, but the woman of my dreams? That's still up in the air.

Malone Fulcher

Savage walked away without so much as listening to what I had to say.

We have a decision to make. Is it going to be marriage with late nights, dinners at one am, and stealing moments between road trips? Or will it be spending the rest of our lives alone, wondering why we couldn't make it work?

Read the stunning conclusion to The MVP Duet.

OUR REVIEW:
A good follow-up to On the DL. This book was a little different than the first. This book follows the characters in a new chapter in their lives. Were they able to move on and get back together or did they let each other go once again? That was the question they left us with at the end of the first part of this Duet. I highly suggest you read the first part before reading this one as you will not understand some parts of this book without it.

The plot of this book was good. I cannot say too much about it without giving huge plot points away. Let’s just say this book explores questions we each have when falling in love. Am I destined to end up alone? Can I move past the past and embrace this future? Can I trust my feelings? Do I go after what I want or stay in my safety net? These are questions answered for these characters in this book.
I still love these characters. Malone is such a sweet character. I loved how realistic her thoughts were. I mean I will be honest, I was having similar thoughts as I was reading it. Then you have Slater. He is famous and well loved by all. He doesn’t let that get to his head though. I love how hard working and caring he is.
The chemistry between these two was never an issue for them. Their wealth of history paired with their newfound connection lead to some steamy scenes. I loved how this book could be hot, but also sweet at the same time. This is what we all strive for in our relationships. I need me a Slater.
The writing style of this book was good. The pace was steady. The author does not make us wait long to answer some much-needed questions. I liked the other characters in the book. I loved how the story was well developed. What I really love is how she explored the fact that communication in marriage is important, but also not as easy as one might thing.
Overall, I enjoyed this duet. I was really happy to have an opportunity to read it. I loved the characters and their love story that spanned decades. I really loved how realistic this whole story felt. Even adding in the famous baseball player felt organic. I would recommend this duet to others and hope they enjoy it as much as I did.

MVP is the conclusion in the duet, after leaving us on a cliff hanging for dear life I loved that Laramie gave us the answers we were all waiting for at the very beginning, although there was no dramatic confrontation that lead to a drawn-out conclusion I felt that it was a great way to finish their love story off.

MVP takes you on the journey of Slater and Malone’s first year of marriage including how to navigate their lives with a jam-packed Baseball season. They face real life issues and had to learn how to communicate with each other and find a balance that works for both of them.

Slater is definitely a swoon worthy character, he loves hard and is loyal to both his wife and his friends. Being in the spotlight has not changed him and he continued to mature throughout the book. Malone is independent and keeps herself down to earth embracing her new life of luxury and friends.

Slater and Malone have never had a problem with their chemistry, their desire is always wanting and they explode off the page. They push each other to their limits respecting each other every step of the way.

Laramie gave us that happily ever after feels throughout this book, she brought in other characters from 2 different series which was a really nice inclusion as I have read them all. I raced through this book as quick as the first, I loved the new characters that were introduced having them support both Slater and Malone separately was unity at its best.

I personally love this book, it finished off the duet perfectly and made me want to run away and find my own Slater and Malone romance. I have no doubt that this wont the last we hear from them and I am hoping that some of the minor characters get their chance to tell us their stories.
