REVIEW - Forever His Baby - Airicka Phoenix (Writing as Morgana Phoenix)

Title: Forever His Baby (The Baby Saga Book 1)
Author: Airicka Phoenix (Writing as Morgana Phoenix)

Synopsis
Two brothers. One impossible choice

From the moment her suspicions are confirmed, Lily knows she’s screwed. What the hell is a nineteen year old with no future going to do with a baby? She can barely take care of herself. She needs help.

In walks Sloan McClain, the only man Lily has ever truly wanted — and the brother of the boy whose baby she’s carrying. While Lily expects a great number of outcomes when she tells Sloan her news, him proposing marriage and asking her to keep the baby is not one of them, especially not when she has every intention of giving the baby a better future by giving it the home she can’t.

Having spent the majority of his life protecting his brother from the bone-breaking fists of their father, Sloan is no stranger to hardship, loss and abandonment. He has learned long ago never to rely on anyone to take care of what was his, and that baby is his. He isn’t about to let Lily give away his family, nor can he allow that child to destroy the future he has built for Cole. His only option: marry the mother and claim the baby as his.

But no secret ever stays hidden forever.

What It's All about

19 year old knocked up Lily and her best friend's super sexy older brother Sloan. Just finding a way to work together, to make it all work.

What I thought
The story starts with 19 year old local girl finding out she is pregnant with her best friend Cole's baby.Cole is away at university, trying to become a lawyer and Lily is nervous to tell him, so she enlists his older brother Sloans help in delivering the news.
They arrive at Cole's new home in college town to discover that he is settled, doing well in classes and has a girlfriend. Lily cannot bring herself to tell him the truth and Sloan keeps schtum too.

" 'Why didnt you tell him?' Lily bit her lip. 'Why, Lily' he pressed. Her chin wobbled before she could stop it, or the tears hot in her eyes. 'Because I love him and I can't ruin his life'."

Upon arriving back in their small town where everyone knows everyone's business they find that pretty soon word has spread, everyone knows and Lily is out of a job (I really didn't like that Ma from the diner).

" 'I don't need to explain my decisions to you, Price' Ma got to her feet. 'Hell, I don't need to even give you an explanation if I don't feel like it. This here is my business and I will run it as I see fit. So if I say you're fired, you're fired! Standing here arguing won't change my mind. Now get out before I get you thrown out."

What follows is Sloan and Lily circumnavigating their lives and getting ready to bring a baby into the world together. The book does admittedly have a certain feel to it (very much like a particular publisher of monthly multi genre serials that sounds like spills and moon). That can't be held against it though. I really enjoyed this. There were some tense bits but overall it was a thoroughly nice story that I'm happy I've read (And would be happy to read more)

There is like zero sex in the first half of the book, it picks up later on and I've just gotta say, that scene, in the kitchen... WOW!! I wished I was her right then!!
"I will never get tired of hearing that"
