OUR REVIEW:
Scripted Reality Review
I just binge read this book in about 2 hours. A masterful work of human emotion, bringing the reader skill fully into the lives of the characters! With a cliff hangar ending that has me waiting figuring out how to neglect my family more so I can read the next book!

Ella MacGregor is a Scottish actress on the top of her game when life takes a decidedly down turn. Her boyfriend/agent betrays her and she has to figure out how to regain her security, trust, and joy for life. Luckily, she has a loving family and friends she can rely on to help her right life's wrongs. Ella has to reclaim her life and find herself. Reading her struggle and accomplishments was a joy. “There is always something good, even in a bad situation. It's just about looking in the right places.”

I loved all the characters. Ella's struggles were real and honest and her emotions were so true and heartbreaking. Connor Andrews loved Ella from the sidelines, as her boyfriend's best friend. So when Donovan betrays Ella, Connor is ready to step up to show not only his love, but how to treat a lady. Ella's father makes me want to call my dad; like any good father, he just wants to feed his girl and make sure she's happy. The village of friends and family surrounding Ella and Connor are so fantastic!

Poor Connor loving Ella for over five years, always being near and not being the man in her life. But he waits her out, and is there for her when she needs him most. He does his best to show her that he can treat her right and the chemistry is there, without being forced or trite. They build their relationship on friendship, “we have that so we can build on it.”

Karen Frances weaves an arresting tale of glittering movie stars who deal with the same emotions and issues as the rest of us. The way she has weaves details and humanity into Ella have me enamoured of her diligence to keep her humble, struggling, proud and strong. I love how the idea of betrayal, in this case by an agent to a star actress, is one that is many things: pulled from headlines, a mostly out of reach idea, and yet, at its base, a concept we all have had to deal with in some way. The book deals with the betrayal in a gripping “Law & Order” sort of way, keeping you rooting for the heroine and waiting with bated breath to see how the criminal will reveal himself.

I'm up in arms about the cliffhanger. I don't like them! I like a good happy ending. I am sad that Ella and Connor don't get one in this book. I have high hopes that all will wrap up nicely in Scripted Love. But no matter what, I can honestly say I was engrossed in this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Scripted Love Review

This was an emotional conclusion to the Scripted Reality. I binge read this after doing the same to the first book, and thoroughly enjoyed the roller-coaster this book provided! This book provides the awe-inspiring conclusion to her first book.

This book starts with Ella facing her betrayer, and having to continually face his passive threats and resulting jabs at her life, love and livelihood. It was fantastic to see how Ella took her situation and crisis, and grew and found strength and a purpose. She takes Donovan's betrayal and her family's love and trust and turns it into a second purpose in her life. “My life has taken a completely different path and I can't help but smile at how happy I am.”

Scripted Love follows Ella and her love Connor. Their the same great characters from the last book, but they face additional struggles as they try to work through their lives. But along the way they meet new friends, keep up with old friends, and rely on their family. All these characters are well detailed, give a needed depth and base to the story.

Connor and Ella's relationship is put to the test in this book. Despite the challenges they face, their love stayed strong and true. No matter the situation, their love shone through and they had plenty of steamy moments to get them through the tough spots. None of them felt forced, it was all true and heartfelt emotional connection, romance, and sex! “Love is so hard to describe, but when you have it in your life, you find yourself grinning from ear to ear.”

Once again Karen Frances created an well written story that drew me in. The devastating details of not only Ella and Connor, but their families and new pieces of their lives make you root for them and wonder what you can be doing better. “I've realised lately that I have to make time for the things that matter to me...” I think that quote is something that everyone should take to heart. We all need to prioritise the things that are important. And this book reminds us that even fictional people have struggles, loves, and changing priorities.

I am so glad Connor and Ella were able to get their happy ending after the cliffhanger of the previous book. I love that their lives wrapped up nicely, but not too quickly and neatly. Life isn't neat and tidy. The plot line and characters worked well through their troubles and life experiences and grew. “My life has taken a completely different path and I can't help but smile at how happy I am.” I hope each and every reader has the ability and opportunity to be happy and content in their lives.
