Blurb:

Head of the class...

Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out.

The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy—he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle.

Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.

And knocks him right on his tight end zone.

Back to school...

Callie has a pretty sweet life herself...on the other side of the country. But circumstances—that she'd prefer to never speak of again—have brought her back home, helping out her parents and substitute teaching at her old high school.

Now she's facing bickering, raging hormones, constant gossip, awkward weirdness, and drama galore...and that's just the teachers.

Just like old times...

When Garrett offers to show his former high school sweetheart the secrets of his winning teacher ways, Callie jumps at the chance—and then has to stop herself from jumping him.

Good friends are all they can ever be.

Or...these teachers just might end up getting schooled—hard—by love.

Johnaka's Review:

“Change of Heart, 5 stars”

When Callie left her home town she tried to never look back. There were times she was tempted to give in and call the guy she left behind but she stayed the course. Years later she’s convinced herself she’s happy with her big city life, but one phone call from home changes everything. Will she be able to resist the temptation that is her first love, or will she try again with him? Her time is limited, will hearts be broken?

Garrett is a great teacher and coach. He can give everything he is to his kids because he doesn’t have a family of his own. He’s only been tempted to settle down once long ago, but it didn’t work out. Now his first love is back in town and he decides to take her under his wing at school. The sparks will fly the question is will they set ablaze?

I seriously loved Getting Schooled! It was comical when appropriate and serious when needed. Both characters grew as individuals and as a couple throughout the story. I love how Garrett tried to take her under his wing and how to navigate the other teachers around them. Callie’s parents were a hoot and I honestly want my husband and I to be like them when were seventy.

Callie had to fall back into love with her home town and it was fun to watch. She had some tough decisions to make and she did so. The love these two shared never died it just needed a little stroking like a fire. Chase gave us a new sort of teacher romance. It was teacher vs. sub-teachers and it was glorious. Heck at times it almost made me want to sneak my husband into my old high school and make out in the janitor’s closet! If you want a story that will mostly make you smile, then check out Getting Schooled.
