REVIEW - The Bombshell Effect - Karla Sorensen

TITLE - The Bombshell Effect
AUTHOR - Karla Sorensen

Blurb:

Allie Sutton just got a new job.

Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone) ... the professional football team he owned for the last twenty years.

Luke Pierson does not want a new boss.

What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.

For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it's a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.

Johnaka's Review:

“Total domination, 5 stars”

Okay, lets get real for a minute. I have been a Sorensen fan since she first started writing. She’s always given us awesome stories that give us all the feels, but with The Bombshell Effect she gave us more. She took one of my favorite tropes and Totally dominated it, she killed it. Sorensen is a football junkie who took her passion for a sport and inserted it into a story. The Bombshell Effect is her gaming winning touchdown.

Luke is the QB for the Wolves and a single dad, he has time for no one and nothing else aside from his daughter and the game he loves. When a woman in a itty bitty bikini brings cupcakes over the thinks Allie is a groupie only she’s not. Soon their lives entangle in ways he never expected. What happens when he finds out all that he thought he knew was a lie? Will he be able to win her over or will it be too late?

Allie has always had an issue with feeling like she belongs. She’s beautiful and that’s all anyone ever sees, they don’t see who she is deep down. When she came home after being sent away years ago she didn’t expect the hurt to come back. She didn’t expect to grieve a father who didn’t know how to be a single father. She sure as heck didn’t expect to take over the one thing he loved more than her. Allie’s life is basically in limbo and she wants to prove everyone wrong, starting with Luke, her QB. Will Allie get the outcome she desires?

Sorensen claims she had a hard time writing this just because the writing style was different than she’s used to, but if this is her version of having a hard time then she needs to struggle more often. I fell into this story and didn’t come up for air until the end. I cannot wait to see what she does with the rest of the series. I am going to go out on a limb and guess this will probably be my favorite sports series of the year. If you love sports and you love romance, go one-click now.
