REVIEW - Merciless - Willow Winters

TITLE - Merciless
AUTHOR - Willow Winters

Blurb:
From USA Today bestselling author W Winters comes a heart-wrenching, edge-of-your-seat gripping, romantic suspense.

I should’ve known she would ruin me the moment I saw her.
Women like her are made to destroy men like me.
I couldn’t resist her though.
Given to me to start a war; I was too eager to accept.

But I didn’t know what she’d do to me. That she would change everything.
She sees through me in a way no one else ever has.
Her innocence and vulnerability make me weak for her and I hate it.
I know better than to give in to temptation.

A ruthless man doesn’t let a soul close to him.
A cold-hearted man doesn’t risk anything for anyone.
A powerful man with a beautiful woman at his mercy… he doesn’t fall for her.

Louise's Review:

Merciless is the first book of the series, it is absolutely dark and twisted.

Carter is the boss man and with that comes dominance and a cut throat attitude, Aria is a pawn piece in a 3way game of chess that Carter is determined to win. Taking Aria as his own starts a War that has been a waiting game for years. Taking control of Aria and the way he makes her feel put him on the back foot as he continues to surprise himself as his feeling grown.

Carter is a strong cold-hearted man, he doesn’t like to lose and he wants Aria to kneel down at his feet. He is ruthless and unforgiving, being at the head of the table he has to be strong and controlling to lead. Aria is a broken soul, she is scared of her own shadow. She has always kept to her lane never veering too far out of the lines, she speaks her own mind and expresses herself loudly and continues to do so throughout the book.

The chemistry between Carter and Aria is off the charts, they both have a magnetic pull towards each other and when they come together as one they 4th of July fireworks. Carters dominate alpha male ways sets them on fire.

This is my first Willow Winters book and it is a lot darker than what I normally read, Merciless was well written and I enjoyed her style. Personally, I felt awkward at times as I not generally keen on the plot of this book and found it hard to connect to the characters. Awaiting the release of book 2, Heartless I hope that I am able to connect more with the story and have a better understanding of the characters.
