REVIEW - Strength Enduring - Carrie Ann Ryan

TITLE - Strength Enduring
AUTHOR - Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:

In the penultimate novel of the Talon Pack series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, an Enforcer must make the ultimate choice when it comes to a human woman with a secret she doesn't know she holds.

Kameron Brentwood has only one thing on his mind: defeating the enemy. He doesn't have time for a human woman who sets his teeth on edge and makes his wolf prowl. It shouldn't matter that she's his mate because he's always thought that mating is a distraction. Yet as soon as he gets to know the woman, he figures out that there's no hiding from the attraction he feels for her.

Dhanielle Coburn has always been on the outside looking in when it comes to the Talon Pack, but she's not about to let fate and the moon goddess decide her path for her. If and when she takes Kameron as a mate, it will be her choice. Yet when she suddenly finds herself in the Pack's inner sanctum, deeper than she ever thought possible, she has to fight not only her need for the man in front of her but also a hidden secret about her family she didn't even know she had.

When the choice is pulled from both of their hands, the two will need to learn who they are apart, and who they can be together. Because there's more to mating than a mark and a prophecy that has come back to haunt them. And even though they may be fated, the ultimate sacrifice just might take them both in the end.

Jennifer's Review:

Another wonderful novel for the Talon pack. Strength Enduring is the eighth novel in the Talon pack series. The others should be read first to get the full effect, but you can technically read it as a stand-alone. This book has mystery and romance in it, but it also has a feisty heroine. I loved that about this book.

The plot of this story is similar to the others. Each story has a touch of mystery or action to help propel the characters into this new world. For Dhani, it is a family secret that she had no clue existed. How will this play into the overall plot? Will this be a game changer or the pack’s downfall?

I loved Dhani. I always liked her when I saw her in the previous novels, but she really came into her own in this one. I loved how she is strong and independent. She has a feisty attitude that shows she is not afraid to put anyone in their place. Then you have Kam. He is a stubborn man. I can see why he is the way he is. He is the pack enforcer, the one tasked with protection. When Dhani comes into the picture, he feels this sudden need to protect her that goes far beyond his duty as an enforcer. Will he act on it?

The heat in this book is there. It is not like other books where they hit the sheets quickly and spend the rest of the books in random hook-ups. This heat is built up by doing a lot of relationship building. These two are wary at first, neither one really wanting to submit to the other. As they get to know each other, things start to heat up. This was an amazing aspect of the story. I like that it wasn’t just, “You are my mate, lets get into bed.”

The writing style of the book is much like the others. It is easy to read. We get to read from both characters. The pace is steady and there is a big conflict that is just awaiting the characters arrival. I really enjoyed this book. I liked learning more about Dhani and seeing Kam get into some trouble.

Overall, I liked this book. I have liked all of the books in this series I have read so far. I love that while it might be helpful to read previous books, you don’t have to. I started this series in the middle and have enjoyed the books I have read since then. I would recommend this book to others.
