Review: Bloodlines
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It's not that I expected it to be dull, but it had a lot to live up to with the Vampire Academy series and if I'm truly honest, I didn't really think much of Sydney as a lead character. She was very strict to her beliefs and life as an alchemist which is fine but I thought she was a bit boring, not very reckless or fun and very straight laced. Yet I will say now, she is growing on me, she loosened up a lot in Bloodlines and became quite fiesty. She can still be a bit boring but she's improving loads.
So, Sydney aside I must say I loved Adrian and was really disappointed when he was shoved aside for Demitri in VA so was really excited to see he would be a big part of this series!! He has such a great sense of humour and annoyingly adorable so he is a fantastic addition to this series.
So the story started a bit slow but it had heaps of potential and although it took a while for it to get anywhere, eventually it kicked up the pace and was getting really exciting and full of twists and turns to keep me hooked.
It was great to get back in to this world again after the ending loss of Vampire Academy, and I must admit I rather enjoyed going through it all again.
