Review: Soul Ties

Soul Ties
Soul Ties by Lisa Swallow

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***

To start with, I wasn't entirely sure I liked where this book was going. I love any paranormal story line that has anything angelic in the content and usually I'm not normally disappointed. I started reading this and it was completely different to anything I had ever read before. Ava was the feisty soul hunter with strength, determination and loads of balls. Kier was the quiet brooding type. Usually it's roles reversed so it took a while to get into the flow of this story. I pushed through any silly qualms I had and read on. I loved the writing style and couldn't fault it. I also loved where the 2 lead characters were going. I didn't like Dahlia at all and found her very irritating but that wasn't important to me as I loved the 2 leads.
Once Ava knew what she had to do it seemed to kick off, before it was a bit up and down and couldn't settle on anything but once she was dragged back to Darius and given her last orders it was crazy addictive, I couldn't put it down. Kier was excellent and really made the story gripping and Ava now seemed to have a real personality and was finding herself and what she wanted and I really felt for her. From half way through to the end it was perfect and I was extremely satisfied. The ending has left me desperate to read the next book now I know where everyone stands and can't wait to see where it's going.
