Review: Clockwork Angel
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Although read in 2012, this is one of those books that sticks in your mind. Such a distinctive and different storyline. I absolutely loved the other Mortal Instruments books and couldn't wait to start reading The Infernal Devices. Apart from the huge difference of this series being set in a completely different time era and place. You can still see the similarities between the series and instantly feel addicted to the characters and background. I have to admit, I generally don't like to read books set in the past. I find it hard to relate to all the differences to present time. Yet with The Infernal Devices I didn't feel like I was in the past. It was more like being in a different world from present. Tess was a great lead character, feisty and inquisitive. Needing to find out what is happening with everything in this new world she has encountered. She knows she is different but it's all so vague and not quite so obvious. The only thing that bugged me was the jumping between the 2 men. Will and Jem. They both were great characters and it was so hard to have to pick who you routed for as they both had such qualities. The magical and mystical elements were as addictive as they were in the other Mortal Instruments books. Great read.
